What is the difference between the IY-LITE and the IY-HUB?

Modified on Tue, 15 Oct at 11:21 AM

The IY-LITE unit is ideal for most users who need basic telemetry and asset location tracking. It’s a simple, low-power solution designed for straightforward use cases.

On the other hand, the IY-HUB offers more advanced capabilities with multiple sensor inputs for collecting a wider range of data, as well as x4 relay outputs that allow remote control of connected assets. For instance, you can remotely reset CCTV towers, enhancing efficiency and reducing the need for on-site visits.

Additionally, the IY-HUB enables remote hardware configuration, allowing you to adjust wake, sleep, and report intervals without needing to physically access the unit.

For example, in the security industry:

  • IY-LITE is typically deployed in security pods where basic GPS tracking and battery monitoring are sufficient.
  • IY-HUB is commonly used in more complex setups, like rapid deployment CCTV towers, where remote control and advanced monitoring features are required.
