How to Create a Custom Dashboard Template for a Device

When adding a new device to your Insytly account via the Create button, you have the option to choose from Global Templates, Organisation Templates, or create your own custom dashboard template.

To create a new dashboard template for a device (such as an IY-LITE) for your organisation, select Make Your Own under Global Templates in the dashboard section during device setup.

After entering all relevant information to set up the device in the platform, you’ll be directed to the following screen:

Enter Edit Mode:

• On your new device dashboard, click the black Settings button in the lower right corner to enter edit mode.
• You’ll now see a Save and Plus icon at the bottom of the screen.

Add Components:

• Click the Plus icon to open a pop-out menu with available dashboard components.
• Select a component to add it to your dashboard, then use drag-and-drop to position and resize it as needed.
• Customise each component to display relevant details.

Save Your Dashboard Changes:

• Click the Save icon to retain any changes made to your dashboard.

Save as a Template:

• In the pop-out menu, navigate to the Templates tab and find the Save as Dashboard Template section.
• Enter a name for your template and select an icon (the chosen icon will highlight green).
• When ready, click Save Current Dashboard as Template. Your template will now be saved for future use.

Using Your Template:

• Your saved template will appear under Load Dashboard from Predefined Template and Load Dashboard from Organisation Template.
• To apply it to a new or existing device, click the Plus symbol next to the template name.
• Use the Red Bin icon to delete any templates no longer needed.

Tip: If you’ve made updates to an existing dashboard, you can save it as a new template by following these same steps, allowing you to keep multiple versions tailored to different needs.
