How to Add Users to Your Organisation, Device, or Site
This guide explains how to invite users to join your Insytly organisation or grant them specific access to individual devices or sites.
1. Adding Users to Your Organisation
Use this method to invite users to become members of your entire Insytly organisation.
Navigate to the "Members" section.
Locate and click the "Invite User" button.
In the field provided (often in a pop-out window), input the email address of the person you wish to invite.
Click the "Invite User" button o dispatch an invitation email.
- After Sending: The invited user will receive an email prompting them to create an Insytly account if they don't already have one, and to accept the invitation.
- Pending Invitations: You can typically view outstanding invitations under an "Invites" section. These will remain pending until the user accepts.
- Accepted Invitations: Once the user accepts and completes their account setup, they will appear in your "Members" list. You can then configure their access rights.
2. Adding Users for Specific Device or Site Access (External Access)
Use this method when you want to grant a user access only to particular devices or sites, rather than your entire organisation.
Navigate to the "External Access" section.
Locate and click the "Invite User" button.
Input the email address of the person you wish to invite into the designated field.
Specify Access Type:
- For Site Access: If you want to grant the user access to an entire site (and all devices within it), enable the toggle button typically labelled "grant full site access".
- For Specific Device Access: If you only want to grant access to one or more specific devices (and not an entire site), ensure the site access toggle (mentioned above) is disabled.
Select Asset(s):
- Use the search field to find the specific device(s) or site(s) you wish to grant access to.
- Select the desired device(s) or site(s) from the list.
Click the "Invite User" button to dispatch the invitation email.
- After Sending: The invited user will receive an email prompting them to create an Insytly account if necessary and to accept the specific access invitation.
- Pending Invitations: You can usually view outstanding external access invitations under an "Invites" subsection within "External Access."
- Accepted Invitations: Once the user accepts, they will appear in the "External Access" list, linked to the specific devices/sites you assigned. You can then configure their access rights.
