How to Edit User Access Rights

This guide explains how to modify the access rights of users within the Insytly platform.

Prerequisites:

  • Only Admins or users with the "Edit User Permissions" right specifically enabled for their account can modify the access rights of other users.

Editing Access Rights for Existing Organisation Members:

  1. Navigate to the "Members" section. This section lists all users registered within your organisation.
  2. Locate the user whose permissions you wish to change in the user list.
  3. In the row corresponding to that user, click on the three dots (...) under the "Actions" column.
  4. From the dropdown menu that appears, select "Edit User".
  5. A pop-out window will appear. This window contains a list of available permissions, each with a toggle button.
  6. To grant or revoke a specific permission, click the toggle button next to that permission. Enable the toggle to grant the right, or disable it to revoke the right. The available permissions include:
    • View Dashboard
    • Edit Dashboard
    • View Comparison
    • Edit Comparison
    • View Switches
    • Edit Switches
    • View Notifications
    • View Location
    • Edit Device Settings
    • Edit Geofence
    • Add Devices
    • Edit User Permissions
  7. Once you have configured the toggles as desired, the changes are typically saved automatically.

Editing Access Rights for External Users (Specific Asset or Site Access):

  1. Navigate to the "External Access" section. This lists users invited for specific asset or site access.
  2. Locate the external user whose permissions you need to modify.
  3. In the row for that user, click on the three dots (...) under the "Actions" column (or a similar "Edit Access" option).
  4. A pop-out or interface will appear, allowing you to configure their specific access rights for the assigned assets or sites, using the system of toggle buttons.
  5. Adjust the toggles to grant or revoke specific permissions for those assets/sites.

The pop-out is shown below:
