The Map page, accessible from within a specific device's menu, provides a powerful set of tools for analysing your asset's location history, tracking its movements, and setting up geographical boundaries.

This guide covers all the features available on this page to help you master your asset tracking.

1. Accessing the Device Map Page

  1. From the Mission Control page, click on the device you wish to investigate to go to its detailed dashboard.

  2. In the device-specific menu on the left, click on Map.

2. Understanding the Location History Panel

The panel on the right side of the screen is your main control center for viewing and filtering location data.

A. Timeframe & Summary

At the top of the panel, you can:

  • Select a Time Range: Choose to view data from the Last 24 hours, 7 Days, 14 Days, 30 Days, or Last 3 Months.

  • View Summary Stats: See a quick summary of the number of Stops and total Distance traveled during the selected period.

  • Export Data: Click the [Export CSV] button to download the location history for your records.

B. Data Views

Below the summary, you can toggle between three different views of the location data:

  • Grouped Locations: This is the default view, showing a chronological list of activities, such as stops and journeys. Each activity card displays key information like duration, speed, and distance. You can also click the Share button on an activity card for more options to share this information.

  • All Points: This view provides a list of every single data report received from the device within the selected timeframe, showing the exact time of each communication.

  • Locations: This view lists every unique GPS coordinate point reported by the device, allowing for detailed analysis of its exact path.

3. Using the Interactive Map

The central map displays the location data visually.

  • Breadcrumb Trail: The black line on the map shows the historical path of the asset during the selected time frame.

  • Current Location: The device's custom icon indicates its most recently reported position.

  • Navigation: Click and drag to pan the map, and use your mouse wheel or the on-screen controls to zoom in and out.

4. Advanced Map Tools

In the top right corner of the map, you'll find a toolbar with several advanced functions.

A. Creating a Geofence

A geofence is a virtual boundary that can trigger an alert if your asset enters or leaves the area. You can create three different types of geofences.

To create a circular (Radius) geofence:

  1. Click the Radius icon (circle) in the map toolbar.

  2. Click on the map to place the center of your geofence.

  3. Drag the edge of the circle to set the desired radius.

  4. Click Apply to save the geofence.

To create a custom (Freehand) geofence:

  1. Click the Freehand icon (polygon) in the map toolbar.

  2. Click on the map to set the first point of your custom shape.

  3. Continue clicking to add more points and draw your desired boundary.

  4. Click the Complete button to finish drawing and save the geofence.

B. Using the Measure Distance Tool

This tool allows you to measure the straight-line distance between two or more points on the map.

  1. Click the Ruler icon.

  2. The "Measure Distance" panel will appear on the right. Click on the map to set your first point (Point 1).

  3. Click on a second location to set your second point (Point 2).

  4. The tool will automatically calculate and display the Distance Covered between the points. You can continue clicking to create a multi-point path.

  5. You can save the measurement for future reference or clear it to start again.

C. Other Map Controls

  • Map/Satellite Toggle: Switch between the standard road map view and a high-resolution satellite image view.

  • Center Map: Click the crosshair icon to automatically re-center the map on your asset's location history.
